The Sony VENICE 2 is a high-end digital cinema camera designed specifically for professional cinematography. Building on the success of the original VENICE, this successor introduces significant hardware upgrades—most notably a brand-new 8.6K full-frame sensor and the ability to record high-resolution RAW data internally, eliminating the need for bulky external recorders. It maintains the acclaimed “VENICE look” with its world-class color science, while its compact, modular chassis makes it a versatile tool for everything from handheld indie shoots to large-scale virtual production stages.

Key Features:

Dual-Resolution Sensor Options: Features a newly developed 8.6K full-frame CMOS sensor (8640 x 5760), with the ability to swap in the original 6K sensor block if needed.
Internal Recording: Records 16-bit X-OCN and 4K Apple ProRes (4444/422 HQ) directly to internal AXS memory cards, removing the need for the AXS-R7 external recorder.
16 Stops of Dynamic Range: Provides incredible latitude for capturing detail in searing highlights and deep shadows simultaneously.
Dual Base ISO: Optimized for clean images in any lighting with a base of 800/3200 for the 8.K sensor (and 500/2500 for the 6K sensor).
8-Step Mechanical ND Filters: A built-in, servo-controlled glass ND system ranging from 1 to 8 stops, allowing for instant exposure control.
Interchangeable Mounts: Native Lever-Lock E-mount for Sony lenses, which reveals a rugged PL mount (supporting Cooke /i and ZEISS eXtended Data) when the adapter is attached.
