The Owner´s Words:
Selling a few super speeds as the set was broken up!
This copy is great – Used (obviously), some wear on paint, 50 year old lens so normal usage signs to be expected. Focus is smooth and wonderful. No fungus, no scratches or chips, cleaning marks and micro dust to be expected due to age, no separation. Iris is flawless.
Front and back caps are included. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I can share some media I used this lens on if you reach out.

The owner words : This lens rocks. Pairs really well with the super speeds and has a cool rainbow flare. This is one of the only other Optex original lenses. I used this lens on both my Canon C70 and Arri 416. Happy to share that footage if you reach out. It’s a fantastic versatile wide angle with far superior contrast/rendering at T/2 than the Zeiss or Elite super speed 8mm.
The Optex 8mm features a rectilinear design with minimal barrel distortion compared to a fisheye wide angle lens. With a fast T2 aperture, a 15 inch close focus, along with integrated 0.8 focus & iris gears. I had the lens collimated in Michigan a few months ago and I’m happy to put you in touch with that lens tech as well.
Front and back caps are included. This lens was used so I can’t call it “mint” but it’s darn close. Very pretty, no scuffs, obviously no issues with the glass: no scratches, no fungus, no haze, no separation, there is micro dust but honestly it’s exceptionally little for a lens of this age. You really have to search to see any micro dust. It’s fantastic.

Owner´s words : This is a phenomenal lens. It’s surprisingly clean inside for its age. Must have been the least used of a well kept set. There’s some very minimal wear and some very light cleaning marks on the exterior lenses. Normal stuff to be expected with lenses of this age. I noticed there’s a spec or two of dust on the front element in the photo and I didn’t have a blower handy. The focus and iris action is perfectly smooth from end to end. Iris blades are clean. I snagged this as I was first building my super speed set but have over collected a bit and this and some other s16 lenses have to go. I’m including the PL adapter which is pretty expensive as well as the focus and iris gears, and the front ring adapter to an 80mm outside diameter if you want to match your lens fronts to 80. The original box is included. Also front and back caps as seen in the photos. Not seen in photos, but is also included: the original focusing tabs and parts.
I haven’t used it a ton since I got it, but I did use it with an aspheron wide angle adapter quite a bit on one project. If requested I can send some stills / clips from that footage.
